We want people that won't miss training sessions because they don't feel like it or because they "did not have enough time." We want individuals who have extreme ownership, meaning there are no excuses for not doing the things you need to do in order to be successful. JONATHAN DAVENPORT
Jonathan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Personal Trainer and Member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Jon played collegiate lacrosse at Rockhurst University and finished his Bachelor’s of Science of Exercise Science with an emphasis in Human Performance from the University of Northern Colorado.
After working with many elite athletes, Jon has developed a unique training philosophy. Jon’s philosophy is to train with an athletic purpose. Jon’s training provides not only strength and sport-specific training needs but also mobility, lifestyle, and performance nutrition. Jon’s unique, intensive, and data driven training style is based not only on tested and proven methods of optimal athletic development but each client’s specific skill and need.

OUR COACHING PHILOSOPHY
SOVRN's Coaching Philosophy is to Train with Purpose. Far too often, people workout but never see success because they are not "training," rather they are blindly exercising. We strive to give our clients the tools to not only live a healthy and prosperous life, but also to perform at high levels. Consequently, SOVRN has developed a system that is based around improving all three facets of health and wellness: Physical, Nutrition and Mental. These are referred to as the Pillars os Fitness.
By targeting all three facets of training, SOVRN does not leave one stone unturned. Most of the fitness industry only focuses on the first two of these pillars: Physical & Nutrition. However, I believe the third might be the most important and is mostly an afterthought by the vast majority of coaches. The reason Mental Training is so important to implement is because it is the main driving force behind habit and lifestyle changes. For example, most clients that are not able to become intrinsically motivated will end up burning out because their motivation or drive comes from extrinsic factors that are superficial. We want our clients to be able to differentiate the two and dial in on the intrinsic side of motivation. This will keep them progressing and add deep meaning to their training.

"I don't write reviews. In fact, I detest them. However, what Sovrn Coaching has done for me in 4 short months beckons me to write this review so that others can experience the life change and results that I have. I met the owner and coach through a mutual community as one in need of desperate help. I was in the middle of a career change which required me to work all night long sitting in a car eating fast food at 1am to suddenly finding myself required to perform at a high level on a physical fitness test in order to join the ranks of a high performing unit that protects this country. Jon was essentially tasked with taking an overweight, stressed, time-limited individual and turning me around into a high performer.
